Q1. What is Reiki ?
A1. Reiki is a form of alternative therapy commonly referred as energy healing. It emerged in Japan in the late 1800’s and involves transfer of energy from the Practioner’s palms, to their patient, using positive INTENTION. “Rei” means Universal, and “Ki” means life energy.
Q2. Who discovered Reiki ?
A2. Although Reiki has been around for thousands of years, it’s current form was developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist called Mikao Usui. In his lifetime Mikao Usui taught the Reiki method to about 2000 people. The practice spread to the USA, through Hawaii in 1940, and then to Europe in 1980, and now almost the whole world.
Q3. Who are Chujiro Hayashi and Madam Hawayo Takata ?
A3. Chujiro Hayashi was a physician and a retired marine commander. Before Usui died, he asked Hayashi to open his own Reiki Clinic, and to develop and expand Reiki Ryoho, based on his previous experience as a doctor. Madam Takata had worked at Hayashi’s clinic for one year, and eventually received Shinpiden Level (Reiki Master) attunement from Hayashi. Then she opened several Reiki clinics in her lifetime. Madam Takata brought Reiki from Japan to the west in 1937, and continued to practice it, until she passed away in 1980.
Q4. How does Reiki work ?
A4. Reiki works through the CONSENT of the receiver, and INTENTION of the Master.
Q5. Can Reiki be used as a substitute for medical or psychological treatment ?
A5. Reiki supplements the medical or psychological treatment given by a Liscensed Medical Practioner, and cannot be used as a substitute.
Q6. How did I, Shyam Sunder become a Reiki Master?
A6. I, Shyam Sunder became a Reiki Master, as a result of Basic and Advanced attunement with Reiki Master Saveetha Madam, and , First Level, Second Level, and Shinpiden (Master/Teacher Level) attunement, with Reiki Master Lisa Powers Madam.
Q7. What are the Reiki Principles of Dr.Mikao Usui ?

Q8. What are Reiki symbols ?
A8. Dr.Mikao Usui took a spiritual journey to the Mountain Mount Kurama, and spent 21 days over there. At the end of 21 days, a bright light flashed above him. At that time he saw the symbols and experienced enlightment.
Every symbol has a specific purpose, and is transmitted by the Master to the patient through Positive Intention. Note that Indian symbols have also found their way in Reiki.

That’s why Shyam Sunder will not get the Karmic effect of his patient, and will himself receive the same benefit that his patient gets.The energy reaches the destination on it’s own.
